SUNDAY SCHOOL TEACHERS NEEDED

The Sunday School is looking for volunteers to help on Sunday's.  All ages, high school and up  are welcome to help.  Let Carla know if you are interested in helping.

Backpack Program

The Brandywine School District is starting a program to send home backpacks of food over the weekend for children in the free and reduced meal program. We've been asked to provide individual MICROWAVALBE servings of spaghetti and meatballs (microwavable 7.5 oz cups), mac and cheese (microwavable cups) and individual soups (microwavable, any variety).  Powdered milk, oatmeal cups and individual cereal cup are also being collected. The brand is not important, just the size and the micorwavableness.  No child should be hungry, and this is one way to help.  Thanks!

We have been given an updated list of items needed to pack backpacks for next month:

Microwavable vegetables (single serving)

Snack Pack pudding

Tuna packets

Canned meat  (single serving)

Chicken Rice a Roni

Mac and Cheese (single serving)

Soup (single serving)

Fruit snacks

Cereal boxes (single serving)

Horizon 8 fl. oz. milk

Snack crackers

Thank you for your continued support of this program!

Youth Readers Needed

We'd like to involve the children more in worship by having them read the Prayer of the Day before the Children's Sermon.  If your child would like to read, please sign up on the bulletin board in the narthex.

Yoga every Wednesday

Come join us every Wednesday evenings at 6 pm for yoga.  Bring a mat and wear comfortable clothing. We will be meeting in the Social Hall.  For more information, please see Bonny Mensch.

Snacks for Sunday

If you (or a group of you) would like to sign up to bring snacks for some Sunday, that would be great.  There's a sign-up sheet on the bulletin board.  We're also accepting packs of cookies or other snacks that can be stored for Sundays when no one is signed up.  Snacks don't need to be anything elaborate, just something to munch on with or without coffee.

Altar Flower and Bulletin Sign up for 2020

The sign-up sheets for altar flowers and bulletins for 2020 are up on the bulletin board.  The price for the two vases of altar flowers will remain $35. The cost of sponsoring the regular bulletins is $20, and the children's bulletins are $2.  Payment should be mailed to or dropped off at the church office, or placed in the offering basket prior to the Sunday you are assigned.  Checks can be made out to Christ (Mertz) Lutheran Church.
